Cockatoo Software

Welcome to 2011

Published on 27 February, 2011 by Keith Pitty

The new year is in full swing and Cockatoo Software is as busy as ever. Read on for a quick update about what to expect from us this year.

Client work expanding

In addition to continuing work on projects for existing clients, Cockatoo Software is pleased to have recently commenced providing services to Healthworks. We have been tasked with taking over support for their employee health portal, a Rails application, and enhancing it to support new business initiatives.

Supporting the Rails Community

The Ruby on Rails web framework has a vibrant worldwide community of programmers. In Australia, Cockatoo Software is happy to be supporting the Rails community at two levels:

Sydney Ruby Meetups

After a baton change from the venerable Jason Crane, the role of organising and acting as MC for the rorosyd meetups held in Surry Hills each month, has fallen to others including Keith Pitty, Cockatoo Software’s director.

Rails Camp 9

The groundwork for Rails Camp 9, to be held at Lake Ainsworth on the NSW North Coast, is being laid by an organising group that includes Keith as well as Scott Harvey, a freelance developer working for Cockatoo Software.

Content Management Systems

Does your business need a website that enables easy update of content? Perhaps you need to add items to the news section of your site, add testimonials or even publish video? If so, watch this space. More details of Cockatoo Software’s CMS offering will be announced soon.

Meanwhile, all the best for 2011!
