About the company
Founded in 2007, Cockatoo Software is an Australian software consultancy based on the NSW Central Coast.
Foremost among the company’s goals is to provide quality software services with an emphasis on understanding the essence of how we can help our customers gain an advantage through software. Our focus is predominantly on, but most definitely not limited to, Ruby on Rails web applications.
About the founder
Keith Pitty joined the IT industry in 1983 after graduating from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Science including majors in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science.
He has accumulated technical experience on a diverse range of platforms and his various roles have covered the full life-cycle of software development. Keith has successfully led and contributed to teams that have delivered applications to corporate and government organisations in Australia and the United Kingdom.
An active member of the Australian Ruby community, Keith is a regular organiser of and presenter at meetings of the Sydney Ruby on Rails developer group. In January 2012 he was elected as the founding President of Ruby Australia.
Prior to founding Cockatoo Software, Keith was a Senior Consultant with Cirrus Technologies from 2000 to 2007. During the 1980s and 1990s Keith provided services to companies including Qantas, Woolworths, Westpac, IBM and TNT.
Keith is a long-standing member of the Australian Computer Society and the Association for Computer Machinery.
